It's Camilla Scavo's turn to answer our questions for this third episode of Hexagon Portraits.
Camilla is in charge of products and partner relationships at Hexagone. A true pro in materials and design brands, she passionately finds sustainable materials that are as beautiful as they are innovative. Born in Milan, she has been immersed in design since childhood and has made it her vocation.
Camilla is a bit like our Italian diva. Moreover, he reigns like an air of dolce vita in his interview.
A Milan escape is just a click away.
What is your name and what do you do for a living?
My name is Camilla, I am responsible for products and supplier relationships at Hexagone.
If you had to describe yourself in 3 words?
I would say persistent, honest and sociable!
Espresso or Americano?
I hope my parents won't see this interview because I drink a lot of American coffee even if Italy would impose a ristretto coffee that I don't necessarily like all the time.
With what personality would you like to drink it, this Americano?
Fabrice Luchini! He is a philosopher of keen intelligence that I find very funny and I know that he likes American coffee so we have something in common.
Your favorite designer?
Of course I'm going to search in my country in Italy so I would say Gio Ponti.
An iconic design piece, if only one had to be mentioned?
It is a room that is close to my heart because it is a room that I have seen at home since I was a child. It is the Tizzio lamp published by Artemide. It is a lamp that I have seen in all the houses in my family and that my parents still have in their room today so I am used to seeing it around me.
In the office are you more happy or complacent?
The truth is that I am complacent but also happy so I complain with joy. So both!
What do you like the most about your job?
It is the relationships that I find on a daily basis in my work that is established with people who are external to society, so who have different issues, different visions, their whole universe is different and to find a way to make our needs, our desires, and desires coexist, so that everyone gains something.
Beautiful or durable?
I'm both a team and that's why I'm at Hexagone because we try to make things beautiful and sustainable and if I had to choose I wouldn't have been able to.
What does sustainability in workspaces mean to you?
In my job, this is reflected in particular in the development of sustainable materials that today apply to furniture, so that's also my job: looking for materials that are durable, interesting and that can be applied to our products.
If you had to end with one word, what would it be?
My final word is come and have an American coffee if you like it at La Maison Volubilis, I make them very well!
