A little more than 5 tons of Co2: this is what was saved on this development project, by only upcycling the storage space. But what does 5 tons represent in concrete terms? Nearly 27,500 km by car, 11,700 liters of bottled water or the manufacture of 323 smartphones (source: ADEME). Not bad isn't it? We'll show you around. The client, Les Echos Publishing, a large editorial and digital agency in Poitiers, a subsidiary of the Les Echos Le Parisien press group, has invested a new building accommodating 51 workstations, 4 meeting rooms, a TV studio, a TV studio, a 78 m² cafeteria overlooking a pleasant terrace. hexagon was selected to provide all the new furniture but also to give a second life to the customer's metal storage.
Our teams designed 37 tall and low cabinet modules from our Silène range for this project: warm seating alcoves in the cafeteria, cabinets with decorative shelves in meeting rooms and modules with open lockers that bring real added value to the layout, underlined by upholstered acoustic cabinet backs and box extensions. Some of the base cabinets have been decorated with planters and give this touch of greenery that is now essential to the office.
Space management through furniture
Space management was a crucial step in creating a functional, productive but also pleasant environment for our client's employees.
The sit-stand tables and desks, manufactured in our factory in Gard, were complemented by furniture from partner brands such as Ondaretta and Hartô as well as ergonomic work chairs from the Inclass brand.
The lighting and acoustics were also provided by hexagon: the acoustics inside the tv studio, wall panels in the offices and the cafeteria (some are customized by the client's designers and then printed, others are plain). Finally, 3 phoneboxes have been installed.
A history of colorimetry
All the furniture was available in our signature finishes: bleached Vincenza oak, shades of sage green and terracota, to match the conceptual line of MC Consult.
The kitchen, the centrepiece of the cafeteria in an elegant olive color and its island layout, is a 100% homemade design. There is a warm atmosphere in this room favored by the colors, the view of the outside and of course: the table football!
On the terrace, the colorful thread unfolds on metal garden furniture, combining high and low tables, lounge area and here too a nice, more fun corner, with a designer ping-pong table.
